Sandbox Environments

What Are Sandboxes?

Sandbox environments are isolated copies of your organization where you can test changes to workflows, forms, automations, and configurations without affecting your live production data.

Creating a Sandbox

Navigate to System & Settings > Sandbox Environments and click Create Sandbox:

  1. Name your sandbox (e.g., "Workflow Testing")
  2. Select the source environment (Production)
  3. Choose a data scope: Full Copy, Config Only, or Empty
  4. Set an expiration date (7, 14, 30, or 60 days)

Working in a Sandbox

Once created, open the sandbox to make changes freely:

  • Modify workflows and automations
  • Test new form designs
  • Experiment with pipeline stage configurations
  • Try custom field changes
  • Test email templates and sequences

All changes are isolated to the sandbox and do not affect production.

Reviewing Changes

Use the Diff Viewer to see exactly what has changed in your sandbox compared to production. Changes are grouped by type (modified, added, updated) with clear labels showing what was changed.

Promoting to Production

When you are satisfied with your changes, click Promote to Production to push them live. You can promote all changes at once or select specific items to promote. The system transitions through a syncing state to ensure all changes are applied correctly.

Sandbox Management

The sandbox dashboard shows:

  • Active sandbox count and their statuses
  • Number of pending changes per sandbox
  • Total storage used
  • Last promotion date

Sandboxes automatically expire after their configured duration and are archived.
